Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha: Recently completed Lok Sabha Elections After this, the ministers of the new government have taken oath. With this, once again Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Kota, Om Birla was made the Speaker of the Lok Sabha for the 18th Lok Sabha, but there is still uncertainty about the Deputy Speaker. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee demanded to give a chance to Samajwadi Party (SP) for the post of Deputy Speaker.
Mamta Banerjee suggested the name of Awadhesh Prasad
It is not clear when the election of the Deputy Speaker will be held in the Lok Sabha, but according to sources, two days ago, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee suggested the name of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad to the senior leaders of the All India Alliance for the post of Deputy Speaker. However, no final decision has been taken regarding this. It is believed that the Samajwadi Party is happy with the proposal of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Congress has also not refused.
‘Congress should give chance to its ally for the post of deputy speaker’
According to sources, Congress had earlier indicated that K Suresh could be made the candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker after the Speaker, but CM Mamata’s proposal spoiled its plan. TMC believes that Congress should give a chance to the ally in the election of Deputy Speaker. Like Congress MP K Suresh, SP MP from Faizabad Awadhesh Prasad also comes from the Dalit community and Ram Mandir His winning the election from Ayodhya after becoming the Chief Minister is being considered a big setback for the BJP.
Awadhesh Prasad can be the candidate of India alliance
According to tradition, the post of Deputy Speaker in Lok Sabha goes to the opposition. At the time of the Speaker’s election, before consensus was reached, the opposition had put forth the condition of the Deputy Speaker’s post, but the matter did not work out. In such a situation, there is little hope that the opposition alliance will get the Deputy Speaker’s post. In such a situation, if a candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker is given from any party of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), then Awadhesh Prasad can be the candidate from the India Alliance. According to sources, the India Alliance will keep pressurizing for this.
